I love it when a client knows what she wants out of her session and this beautiful mama was just such a woman. And, I’m pretty sure that attitude goes beyond her session and helps drive her in life. I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting her little bundle and look forward to another session with them soon. (Yes, the blog lags behind real time quite a bit these days!)

It was a pleasure to working with you and your sweet little boy!

Maya… an adorable example of what I love about babies this age. A mix of serious faces, smiles, giggles, soft skin, and still that little desire to stick your feet in your mouth. It also doesn’t hurt that she happens to have gorgeous eyes and lips to die for!

One of the bigger newborns I’ve had the pleasure of photographing…and that means soft, full cheeks!

The sun is shining and it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day today! So…I’m going to share some photos of a beautiful girl playing in the sun. If you’re following on facebook, you may have seen some from this session a while back, but I never got to share her on the blog. So, take a look at the joy that it is to be 3!

I hope these make you smile!
And for those of you who like to reminisce… here are some shots from her past sessions.

Two of my favorite subjects to photograph…Evan and his pal, Sydney. (Sydney is the one doing the jumping.)

You can see some shots from our previous sessions together here and here.

I know…we’re two weeks in already, but considering my recent, lengthy absence on this blog, it’s a wonder I’ve managed to drop by for an update before January is out! My apologies. In truth, 2010 was filled with many fantastic clients, both new and old, and as the year went on…life got busy! Outside of shooting your beautiful babies in your homes, I moved my own family to a new home (just across town) and I’ve been working on growing a new little baby of my own, due to sprout in June! Did I say I was busy? Okay, maybe I was also just a wee bit tired.
Sooo….all that time away from the blog has left me with an awful lot of images to share with you, both from 2010 and already some new 2011 babies. On with the show!

Beneath that incredible hair is sweet little Ingrid. She also had a great welcoming committee…

She fit right in…

Looking forward to welcoming all of your little ones this year!

First off…a big THANK YOU to those who voted in the Nickelodeon Parents’ Pick awards – you picked me! In light of the favorite family photographer honor, I thought it appropriate to write a little about family sessions and share some of my work that falls into the family category since most of what you usually see here is bellies and babies.
When people with toddlers and young children ask if I do family photos, I always warn them that I’m not one to do a posed, all eyes on me, group shot. Here’s why: Look up the definition of “family” and you’ll probably find something about blood relatives, sharing the same mother or father, living under one roof, etc. I hope you’ll agree with me that “family” has a much greater meaning than that. I think those posed group shots say as much about your family as the dictionary definition. So…yes! While my sessions always have the little ones as the primary focus, I will do family photos. If you *really* want a posed shot, you can probably convince me to do it (I’m nice like that), but for the most part…I just want you to be you, doing what families do. Your kids will probably agree…it’s much more fun that way!
So here are some shots of a wonderful family who wasn’t afraid to just be themselves.

Thank you to the O family for a fun session!

Olivia. She was a sweet newborn when I photographed her last year and now a sweet one-year-old with lots of personality. Seriously, sooo cute – I had a little trouble narrowing down images to share from her session.

And her nursery is one of the most lovely rooms I’ve seen. You can’t see all of the little things here, but Olivia’s mom included lots of vintage touches which, if you know me, is totally up my alley!

I think we wore each other out, but it was totally worth it!
